Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, Yet Again, Voted Against Her Own Veterans and Fellow Virginians
Virginia Beach, VA—Today, House Republicans voted on a resolution to fund the government through September 30th.
The bill jeopardizes programs like Social Security and veterans’ medical care and slashes nutrition assistance and infrastructure investments, among other cuts.
“In Virginia, working families are bracing for the worst,” said Emily Yeatts, Campaigns Director Affordable Virginia. “Rep. Jen Kiggans’ vote for this resolution threatens these essential programs. Her attempt to save face by advocating for paying the military rings hollow when she’s also been caught lying about Medicaid. Working Virginians rely on these programs, and those who work for government agencies aren’t footballs and deserve more than being punted back and forth. Jen Kiggans continues to enable Trump and DOGE instead of supporting measures to stop cuts and save these services her constituents need to survive.”
