For Immediate Release

December 22, 2023

Virginia Beach, Virginia – On the anniversary of the of Trump Tax Scam being signed into law and as congressional Republicans push to renew and expand these tax cuts to the ultra-wealthy, Affordable Virginia released the following statement:

“Rep. Jen Kiggans has spent her first year in office voting over and over for policies that harm working families, seniors, and veterans, and now she’s at it again – co-sponsoring legislation to extend Trump-era tax cuts to the ultra-wealthy,” said Joseph White, Organizing Director of Affordable Virginia. “As families struggle with high costs, working families are struggling to make ends meet, but Jen Kiggans is more concerned with giving handouts to the ultra-wealthy and corporations by extending Trump’s tax cuts. It’s plainly obvious that tax cuts for billionaires are not focused on addressing the urgent needs working families are facing in our district, so we urge Rep. Kiggans to reject these senseless handouts to the ultra-wealthy and keep her promise to stand up for working families before it’s too late.”
